Description: | A beautiful deep black cherry colour. This wine has a very fruity, powerful and pure nose. The attack is round and powerful on the palate. Very ripe fruity notes come through beautifully in this wine. The tannins are supple and pleasant, well mixed with delicate woody tastes, giving this wine all its body and elegance. Suggestions. Serve at: 14°c to 16°c. Serve with: Game in a Grand Veneur Sauce, Rib of Beef. Cellaring Potential: 7 to 10 years Region Description. (pee noh nwahr)—A tricky grape to grow, Pinot Noir makes some of the best wines in the world. The prototype wine is red Burgundy from France but Oregon, California, New Zealand, and parts of Australia also produce good Pinot Noir. The wine is lighter in color than Cabernet or Merlot with relatively high alcohol, medium-to-high acidity, and medium-to-low tannin. Its flavors and aromas can be very fruity or earthy and woodsy, depending on how it is grown. It is rarely blended with other grapes. |
