| Description: | The fruit for this lively Chenin comes from the Palmero Family Vineyard in Lodi's Borden Ranch. Planted by Gerald Cresci in 1983, the six rows of vines (that's right, just six ) used by Haarmeyer sit on a rocky swale of pink granite and quartz soils that gets quite warm, and yield small, early ripening grape clusters of concentrated flavor and acid. A palate of apple, Asian pear, lemon-lime and salt-water taffy flavors is balanced by aromas of crushed rocks, beeswax and candied ginger. |
