First released in 2010, Grandeur is a limited-edition single malt that superbly represents Glendronachs smooth, complex and full-bodied style. The whisky is specially selected by Master Blender Rachel Barrie from among the oldest and most unique sherry casks, maturing in Glendronachs traditional dunnage warehouses. Grandeur Batch 11, matured for 28 years in the finest Oloroso sherry casks and is bottled at 48.9%. Only 3181, hand-numbered bottles have been released. Tasting Notes,. Nose: The whisky has a sherry sweetness on the nose, with balanced aromas of baked plums, roasted almonds, walnuts, ginger, old leather and cracked black pepper. Palate: The palate is full-bodied and complex, revealing rich notes of dark fruit, espresso, caramelized orange, sultanas, dark chocolate, tobacco leaves and warm oak spices. Finish: The finish is long and elegant, with lingering dark chocolate, walnuts, raisins and gingerbread. |
