| Description: | 100% Chardonnay, certified organic, planted in on a parcel with 40% incline in Martailly-lès-Brancion (just north of Cruzille) on white marl and blue marl terroirs, similar to the soils of the Jura, while Cruzille is usually known for its limestone soils. Manual harvest, direct pressing, 8 months of aging in barrels, racking, bottled without fining or filtration. Like all of the whites from Vignes du Mayne, lees aging helps to give subtle roundness to the wine, while the mineral rich soils provide freshness and balance. Though suitable for aging over the next 3 to 5 years, this is in some ways the younger sibling to Les Chassagnes and Aragonite, and is in a lovely place for immediate drinking. |
