Foradori Teroldego Vigneti Delle Dolomiti IGT

Description: | Organically & Biodynamically Farmed. More approachable in its youth than the old-style Teroldegos, this spicy, mineral, dark-red-fruited red is the calling card wine from Elisabetta Foradori. The classic growing area is in the Rotaliano plain, nestled between dramatic mountains in the Adige Valley of Trentino. It's fermented in cement, then aged in a combination of larger oak barrels and cement. James Suckling 93 Points - "Such a fresh and youthful teroldego full of dark sour cherries, mulberries, white pepper and stemmy herbs. Really bright, vivid and fine-grained on the palate with a long and expressive finish with pure, crunchy fruit. Shows excellent drinkability. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Delicious now." - Zekun Shuai, Senior Editor. Wine Advocate 92 Points - "The biodynamic and organic 2021 Teroldego Foradori shows ripe blackberry fruit, rich concentration and lingering aromas of sweet tobacco, nutmeg and exotic spice. Despite those savory tones, this wine remains brilliant and fresh throughout. The mid-weight style makes it a perfect companion to simple pork or lamb dishes.". Vinous 92 Points - "Darkly alluring, the 2021 Teroldego smolders up with a spicy bouquet of crushed black cherries, sweet sage and dusty rose. It's elegant and refined, with polished red berries that coast along a core of stimulating acidity. This finishes with fine tannins and classically dry, resonating on notes of licorice while leaving a youthful tension behind. The 2021 is beautiful yet youthfully poised today. That said, I expect a long and fruitful evolution from this balanced beauty." - Eric Guido. Antonio Galloni of his publication âVinousâ writes of Elisabetta Foradori: âI was deeply struck with the wines I tasted at Foradori a few months ago. The winery is stripped down to the bare essentials, with terra cotta amphoras playing a greater role than in the past. Elisabetta Foradori is able to coax remarkable finesse from her Teroldego, the red grape that is native to this part of Trentino. The entry-level Foradori (previously labeled Teroldego Rotaliano) is fabulous and a great introduction to the estate. Readers should do whatever they can to check out these magnificent wines.â. Spontaneous fermentation with some whole clusters, minimal sulfites added after fermentation. |
