| Description: | This supremely reliable and traditional estate has been called the 'Latour of Saint-Estèphe' and is considered by many collectors and critics to be producing First-Growth quality, extremely ageworthy wines. Planted to 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, Montrose has extremely old vines, many over 50+ years old, and produces a very rich, very complex, full-bodied wine. In the 2005, the wine is super tannic and concentrated, and will require decanting for several hours if opened between 2015-2030. A massive blockbuster! |
