| Description: | More famous for their four Barolos, this Dolcetto D' Alba hits the spot on quality and price. It comes from 100% estate vineyards, most of which are 30+ years old, that are farmed organically. Dolcetto is one of the many Italian grapes that are off the mainstream radar. Translating to "little sweet one" in Piedmonte (the grape's home), this is somewhat misleading. Out of the glass, the wine is extremely fragrant. The bouquet explodes from the glass with notes of violet, and anise with blackberry and blueberry on the fruit side. This Dolcetto is medium body, very dry, with a distinct grip and lasting finish. Blue fruits dominate the palate with undertones of leather, cocoa, and firm tannins. This is such a versatile pairing, especially with fall cuisine. Pair with venison, roast chicken, leaner cuts of beef, roasted vegetables, along with charcuterie. Bring this to your next BYO or dinner party and everyone will be singing your praises. |
