Paul Hobbs Crossbarn Pinot Noir

Vintage: 2020
Description: Winemaker Notes \r\nSourced from cool climate vineyards along the Sonoma Coast, which saw a relatively even growing season, the 2020 Crossbarn Pinot Noir shows deep ruby in the glass with inviting aromas of pomegranate, black cherry, and bay leaf with a touch of violet. On the palate, juicy notes of fresh raspberry compote mingle with tart cranberry and a touch of forest floor, with a hint of salinity that speaks to its coastal origins complementing a lifting acidity and refreshing finish.\r\nPerfumed aromas of red and black cherries, red licorice, cooking spice and rose water. Medium-to full-bodied with steady acidity that helps to articulate the dark-fruit and tobacco flavors, but retains freshness throughout. Sandy, easy-going tannins. Wet-stone finish. 100% estate grown.\r\nJames Suckling 92 Points\r\nAbout Crossbarn\r\n\r\nCrossbarn + Kitchen Table Advisors\r\n\r\n\r\nWe have partnered with Kitchen Table Advisors to support our local food community by donating a portion of our proceeds to benefit small sustainable farms and ranches.\r\nOur Founder Paul Hobbs was raised on a working family farm and recognizes the challenges of running an agricultural business. The Farmer\u2019s Project program promotes small farms and embodies our shared values of sustainability, love of the land and supporting the community.\r\n\r\n\r\nThe first-hand experience of growing up on a farm made Paul Hobbs notice the influence of terroir on the character of fruit when his father had him taste apples of the same variety grown in different orchards several miles apart from one another. The diversity of flavors and textures made an impression on him and would later influence his approach to winemaking.\r\nAfter launching his namesake winery in 1991, Paul Hobbs established Crossbarn in 2000 to honor his family\u2019s farming heritage and values of farming sustainably. What began as just one small lot of cabernet sauvignon from the inaugural vintage gradually evolved to introduce chardonnay and pinot noir.\r\nAbout Paul Hobbs Winery\r\nRegarded as an international visionary for his accomplishments in the vineyard and winery, Paul Hobbs combines his childhood roots on the family farm with an innovative scientific approach to refine the art of winemaking. He is recognized across the globe for breaking with tradition and forging new paths in the pursuit of excellence; both in stewardship of the land, and the crafting of wines that represent the purist concept of place. In 1991, pioneering winemaker Paul Hobbs established Paul Hobbs Winery. The Paul Hobbs Katherine Lindsay Estate in Sebastopol, California, purchased in 1998, would later be the site of his Howard Backen designed winery, completed in 2003. The winery exemplifies his vision and dedication to sustainability and his on-going quest to refine the art of winemaking with minimal intervention, yet meticulous care. Our vineyard designate and appellation wines are a pure expression of our interaction with nature and place, featuring Chardonnay (Russian River Valley, Sonoma Mountain), Pinot Noir (Russian River Valley, Sonoma Coast, Carneros) and Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley).\r\n.
