Domaine Drouhin Laurene Pinot Noir

Domaine Drouhin Laurene Pinot Noir

Description: The 2004 Laurène is vibrantly seductive with aromas of fresh cherry & red berry, and a floral mix of cherry blossoms and rose petals. These sensations follow through on the palate, with added clove and spice character. Firm, layered tannins coat the mouth, but the real stars are the rich, velvety touch and well rounded, perrsistent finish. As the Laurène opens up, hints of blue fruit, cola & fresh undergrowth emerge. Similar to 2001 and '93 in finesse and sophistication, the ?04 Laurène is full of life and promised much in the years to come. Enjoy now, and anytime over the next 8-12 years. Region Description. The Dundee Hills Ava is Oregon¹s first micro Ava as of one year ago and is over 80% \"Jory\" soil-type. This special volcanic soil has excellent minerality and drainage. Also, the Dundee Hills benefits from being drier and warmer than many pockets that surround it. All of these factors together combine to showcase unique characteristics found in the best Pinot noirs from this region. Our wines tend to be very focused with great clarity and complexity. Some of the descriptors are bright red fruits, exotic spices, and a gorgeous minerality in the structure.
