Description: | Description: The estate dates back to 1785, when the Bera's ancestors originally purchased some of the land from the Knights of Malta. By this time, the cultivation of grapes -- and in this area particularly Moscato grapes -- was already well- established since the 13th century. A blend of Favorita, Arneis, Cortese, and Sauvignon Blanc, hence the mashup name, Arcese. Refreshingly aromatic with a real depth of flavor. The Favorita, a native grape to Piedmont, adds bright acidity and a pleasant citric tang. Arneis adds a hint of pear, while Cortese rounds the blend out with mineral characteristics. This is a delicious value and a great dinner wine. In fact, the Ny Times raved about the food friendliness. Food pairing: Antipasto, aperitif, carpaccio, caesar salad, cheese (goat), pasta herbed w/ sauces, seafood, salumi, veggies, etc. |
