The Gladstone Axe The Black Axe Blended Malt Scotch Whisky 750ml
Scotch
Description: | Manufacturer's Notes: William Gladstone, our great-great-grandfather and four times Prime Minister has a love for Scotland. He signed the Spirits Act of 1880 which allowed for blending of Scotch for the first time ever. Known as "The Grand Old Man" his passion and pastime was felling trees with his trusty collection of axes. In his honour we present this exceptionally smooth blend of malt whiskies with a touch of smoke -- produced with peated malts from the highlands and islands of Scotland. Critic Tasting Notes: "Blended using a portion of peated malt from an undisclosed Islay distillery, this delivers a smooth and polished nose, deftly balancing honey sweetness with moderate peat smoke, supported by barbecued dry fruits and orange peel. Citrus, honey, and toasted pastry flavors, with flashes of dried apricot, tropical fruits, and grapefruit flesh, which yield before a delicious final phase of chocolate, malt, and cocoa usher in the dry finish." |
