Bruichladdich Classic Laddie 50% 750ml Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Description: History,. Bruichladdich ('brook-LADDIE') Distillery, from Islay ('EYE-la'), the famed island off of the West Coast of Scotland, is well known to most Scotch whisky fans around the world and particularly revered here at Hi-Time, where Bruichladdich, Rmy Cointreau and Rndc, over the years, have worked with us carefully (and often!) to hold regular tastings and events showcasing these amazing bottlings. Whether peated or unpeated, young or old, the Bruichladdich lineup has a baseline quality that is always present-- these are well-made whiskies done the 'old school' way. No chill filtration. No added coloring. They are still using much of the 'Harvey machinery' (the original equipment used when the distillery got their start in 1881, set up by the original owners, the Harvey brothers) to make the whiskies today. We've been fortunate to hold tastings with both Master Distillers Jim McEwan and Adam Hannett ; Jim was the Master Distiller from the distillery rebirth until his 'retirement' in 2015 and Adam, who started as a tour guide in 2004 and worked his way up to the top spot through dedication, passion and sweat equity [and probably more than a few drams along the way]), is currently at the helm. We look forward to more Bruichladdich events and whiskies in the future!. The Classic Laddie is the distillery's signature bottling and definitive Bruichladdich single malt. Showcasing their classic, floral and complex house style, The Classic Laddie is made from 100% unpeated Scottish barley, trickle distilled, non-chill filtered, fully matured and bottled on Islay. This whisky is the epitome of the Bruichladdich distillery values, reconnecting land, community, and dram. Tasting Notes,. "Bruichladdich describes this as a "multi-vintage cuvee" and only Scottish-grown barley is used in its distillation. Ozone, lemon juice, fresh-planed wood, and a hint of honey appear on the nose. The palate features toffee apples, cinnamon, ginger, salt, and oily oak. Pepper, sea salt, and relatively dry oak in the finish are balanced by toffee sweetness." - Gavin Smith, Whisky Advocate
