Distillerie Artisanale Artemisia La Clandestine Absinthe 750ml
Absinthe
Description: | Manufacturer's Notes: La Clandestine is hand-crafted and distilled using the finest herbs from the Val-de-Travers -- the birthplace of absinthe -- including the legendary Grande Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium). Based in a 1935 recipe, La Clandestine was first distilled by Claude-Alain Bugnon in stills in the family basement at a time when it was illegal to produce absinthe in Switzerland. It became a local legend, and Claude-Alain began legal production right after the ban was lifted on March 1st, 2005. Since then it hs been awarded gold medals and distinctions in many competitions (the Absinthiades, Distiwiss, Forum Romand for Spirits, etc.), while becoming a favourite of more and more connoisseurs. To properly develop the flavours and aromas of La Clandestine, we recommend that you serve it in the traditional European manner: pour 1.5 oz. of La Clandestine into an absinthe glass and slowly add 4-6 oz. of ice-cold water. As you add the water, the product will "louche," turning a beautiful milky white colour and releasing its fantastic bouquet of aromas. La Clandestine is 100% natural and every batch and every bottle remains hand-crafted by Claude-Alain. |
