Zulal Areni Syrah Sireni Red

Zulal Areni Syrah Sireni Red

Voskehat

Vintage: 2017
Description: 70% Areni from Vayots Dzor, 20% Syrah from Armivir, 10% Sireni from Artsakh grown on volcanic rock, 3,000 to 4,300 feet above sea level. Fermented in stainless steel; Areni aged in lightly toasted Caucasian oak. "Crunchy red and black fruits are lightened with a slight stone fruit character, giving way to earth-driven flavors. On the palate, the wine is velvety and soft with silky tannins. The concentrated black cherry and currant lingers, along with a finishing touch of spice." - Jenica Flippo and Jameson Fink at Texsom, where this wine was tasted by 16 Masters of Wine and other wine professionals and received Judge's Selection, Platinum Award. Winemaker's Notes : " Zulal was founded to unearth and revive lost and forgotten grape varieties. Each of our wines exemplifies pure characteristics of grapes that have grown in our high elevation, volcanic soil for millennia. It is our passion and privilege to share these rare varieties with the world."
