| Description: | Organic. The Clos des Godeaux is a parcel within the Les Godeaux vineyard site that is bookended in between two stellar 1er cru sites, Aux Serpentires and Talmettes, rendered unforgettable by the impeccable work of another distinguished Savigny estate: Simon Bize. The 1.6 ha of Puy de lOurs Clos des Godeaux vines were planted in 1968, and the wine is made in a gentle, non-interventionist style in honor of those special vines. In 2021, they chose to fully destem their fruit. Theres a slightly lush and ripe character to the fruit that wafts off the nose, but the palate shows its pedigree with a smoky cherry fruit and an admirable sense of grip, all while remaining delicate and weightless. This is our kind of Savigny! |
