| Description: | Introducing Redemption Cognac Cask Finish, where French luxury meets pre-Prohibition inspired 'rye-forward' whiskey to deliver a truly decadent whiskey experience. To create this unique offering, Master Blender Dave Carpenter teamed up with our friends at Ferrand Cognac, one of the worlds premier Cognac makers, located in the Grand Champagne sub-terroir. This fine whiskey starts with our award-winning High Rye Bourbon (60% corn, 36% rye, 4% malted barley), which is finished in authentic Pierre Ferrand Cognac casks. After transferring our High Rye Bourbon from new American White Oak barrels to the Cognac casks, the whiskey matures for an additional year and a half, drawing rich flavors and subtle sweetness from the casks. The wood and layered complexity from the multiple vintages of Cognac produced in the casks, some of which date as far back as 1988, create a truly wonderful and unique whiskey. When the whiskey is ready to be enjoyed it delivers elegant and bold flavors, and traditional bourbon notes balanced with a warming sweetness and Redemptions signature 'rye-forward' finish. Tasting Notes. Nose: Juicy floral notes of hibiscus, concord grape, and the warmth of clove and allspice. Palate: Dark stone fruits (plum, peach preserves), spiced poached pear, with a layered tanning complexity from the French oak. Finish: Warming, long finish of buttered pecan, praline, baking spice. |
