Tablas Creek Patelin Grenache Blanc

Tablas Creek Patelin Grenache Blanc

White Rhone Blend

Vintage: 2018
Description: Review This was another terrific tasting with Jason Haas, and he and his team at Tablas Creek continue to make elegant, classic, balanced wines from their estate in the northwestern part of Paso Robles. It's worth noting that since 2008 they've favored cooler temperatures during fermentation and this shows in their wines' purity and freshness. However, in my opinion, the wines today lack some of the depth and intensity found in previous vintages. Nevertheless, these are beautiful wine that age incredibly well. - Jeb Dunnuck, The Brilliant 2016s from Paso Robles, August 2018. Wine maker notes The Tablas Creek Vineyard Patelin de Tablas Blanc is a blend of four white Rhone varietals: Grenache Blanc, Viognier, Roussanne, and Marsanne. The wine incorporates fruit from eight top Rhone vineyards in Paso Robles, each vineyard selected for its quality. Like many white wines from the Southern Rhone, it is based on the crisp acids and rich mouthfeel of Grenache Blanc, with Viognier added for floral, tropical aromatics, and small additions of Roussanne and Marsanne for structure. Producer Tablas Creek is the realization of the combined efforts of two of the international wine communitys leading families, the Perrin family, proprietors of Chateau de Beaucastel, and Robert Haas, founder of Vineyard Brands. They had since the 1970s believed the California climate to be ideal for planting Rhone varietal grapes. In 1987, they began the lengthy process of creating a Chateauneuf-du-Pape style vineyard from scratch in the New World. The Tablas Creek Vineyard Partnership was born, with the Perrin and Haas families as majority partners, and French and American wine loving friends as minority partners.
