---|---|
Description: | Vartsikhe Marani is an artisan winery located in the Imereti region of Western Georgia. The winery farms and makes wines without any added chemicals. All wines are fermented with wild yeast in buried clay Qvevri (clay amphora). Krakhuna is a rare native variety that makes lovely, crisp whites. Serve lightly chilled. Very slightly cloudy amber. Dried floral, somewhat vegetal and nutty aroma of partly dried yellow fruits with a little lime blossom and yellow spice. Firmly knit, tart, somewhat juicy fruit, nutty, spicy and dried-vegetable to herbal aromas, quite clearly yeasty notes, lots of grip from friable tannin, yellow spice, chalky-salty minerality, a little smoke and bacon in the background, very good, firm, tart, spicy finish with grip. |
