Drink now. 92 pts Wine Advocate Issue #230 April 2017 The classical and traditional 2015 EQ Chardonnay is a good expression of the place where the grapes grow, influenced by the sea breeze on granite and clay soils. This wine has been getting undressed of all things external to try to show the place more than the process. The whole clusters were pressed at low pressure and the cloudy must fermented with indigenous yeasts in oak barrels where the lees were stirred for some six months and then kept a little longer to complete a total élevage time of 11 months. It's still marked by the barrel but still feels quite transparent. Only around 10% of the volume underwent malolactic fermentation, which is decided depending on the style of the vintage. It's tasty and fresh, clean and focused, with a good balance between volume and elegance. Drink 2017 - 2020 |
