Description: History,. Our Navy Yard rum is a nod to Massachusetts storied history of rum distilling and imbibing. Made in the New England tradition, from 100% Molasses, it is double distilled and aged in 53 gallon new American oak barrels. This style of rum was drunk on the ships, farms, and in the pubs of early America. We craft this rum in honor of New Englands rich history to enjoy in front of the fire, on the rocks, or to add depth and power to your rum old fashioned or daiquiri. Cane Type: 100% grade A molasses. Aging: Minimum 2 years, 53 gallon 100% new American oak barrels. History Repeated. Our founders ancestor, the original Andrew Cabot (1750-1791), was a merchant, rum distiller and successful American privateer during the American Revolution. His fleet totaled more than twenty-five ships including the True American, for which our rum is named. We carry on this spirit of New England independence and gritty determination by dedicating ourselves to making only the finest rums possible through our uncompromising adherence to the use of best ingredients and best practices. A New Revolution. American Privateers played a pivotal role in defeating what seemed an insurmountable foe. Their courage and ingenuity helped change the outcome of the Revolution. Privateer Rum is following suit, disregarding commonly accepted practices of larger rum producers including sweetening, flavoring, filtering and spicing their industrial distillate, to establish a new standard in rum one of honesty and purity. Best ingredients. Best practices. Never sweetened. Never filtered. Tasting Notes,. Style: A Traditional New England Rum, dry, copper color, pronounced aromatics, oak aged, full body, with fleshy texture. In a Daiquiri: Adds power, velvet texture, and deep bass notes of pastry, brown butter, custard, apricot marmalade, hazelnut, and dried figs.
