Description: | Domaine de Martinolles, Pinot Noir, Languedoc, France 2019 100% Pinot Noir Red Plum, Bright Cherry, Subtle Spice The region of Limoux in France's Languedoc is something of a conundrum. Most of its neighbors cultivate the famous Mediterranean varietals like Grenache and Syrah, but Limoux often focuses on specialties normally associated with more northerly regions. Its cooling Atlantic influence has made it famous for sparkling wines and the best French Chardonnays outside of Burgundy, so it's no surprise that Limoux should provide a fabulous haven for elegant, healthy Pinot Noir. This one is balanced and food-friendly with vibrant black cherry fruit and a touch of peppery intrigue. A truly exceptional value! Serving Suggestion: Crepes filled with smoked salmon and seasoned with dill and horseradish. Cornish hens stuffed with minced pork, mushrooms, and shallot. |
