Boizel Rose NV (750ML)

From Champagne

Description: 93 De / 91 Vm / 91 Bh / 91 Vp / 90 Ws. Vinepair Best Champagnes of 2022. Silver Medal 2021 Decanter World Wine Awards. Discreet strawberry plum, verbena and angelica nose. Notes of herbs, spice and strawberry follow through in the mouth. The finish has considerable authority. - Decanter. (50% Pinot Noir, 30% Pinot Meunier and 20% Chardonnay; 8 g/l dosage; L41a24069bt): Light orange-pink. High-pitched, mineral-laced red berry and orange zest aromas are complicated by notes of cinnamon and allspice. Dry and exotically flavored, offering blood orange and gingerbread flavors and a suggestion of candied rose. Tight, focused and very spicy on the penetrating finish, which clings with strong mineral-driven tenacity. Eight percent of the Pinot Noir here was vinified as still red wine. - Josh Raynolds, Vinous Media. Outstanding. Very pale rosé. An elegant and pure nose with good breadth offers up notes of raspberry, strawberry, yeast and a soft floral hint. The supporting effervescence is exuberant with a relatively fine bead before terminating in a bone dry and markedly austere finish. I find many rosé Champagnes to be excessively sweet yet here there is no such make up, indeed some may find this to be a bit too austere but I very much like the clean, crisp and refreshing character. Note that this could easily be held for further development though it's so appealing now it would be hard to keep one's hands off! - Allen Meadows, Burghound. This sparkling rosé contains Pinot Noir and Chardonnay sourced from premier and grand cru vineyards, as well as the "best crus" of Pinot Meunier, according to the brand. Soft strawberry and raspberry notes mingle with yogurt on the nose, while the palate shows good grip and lends itself to summer afternoon sipping. - Vinepair. A fine aperitif-style Champagne with a crisp mousse and fresh acidity supporting delicate notes of white cherry, apple blossom and pickled ginger. Lightly chalky finish. Disgorged January 2020. Drink now. 5,000 cases made, 1,500 cases imported. - Alison Napjus, Wine Spectator
