| Description: | Airigh Nam Beist 1990 is a delicious vintage bottling from the ongoing success story that is Ardbeg. Sadly now discontinued due to exhausted stocks, 'the Beist' was an extremely popular Ardbeg, with assertive and powerful peatiness and a lovely honeyed edge. Oh, and it's pronounced 'Arry nam Baysht'. Nose Weighty and pungent. Big, dark peat notes and creosote. Almost like a burning tire, extinguished with powerful sea spray. Palate Full, but, surprisingly, unlike the nose. Full of cereal notes and dry wood with a leafy green quality. Sweet, dark almonds and walnuts and a thick cream, all stitched together with heavy smoke. Finish Powerful smoke creeps back in, creamy. |
