| Description: | Bodega de Forlong, Blanco "La Fleur" (500ml), Cadiz, Andalucía, Spain 2016 {organic} 100% Palomino aged with flor 24 months. Saline, Leather, Hazelnut, Sherry, Green Pepper, Frites. Harkening back to the methods of producing sherry prior to the 20th century, this is an exciting, micro-production, un-fortified version of a classic Oloroso. Only one barrel was made of this subtle "sherry" from Palomino grapes dried for 48 hours in the Andalcian sun to increase the sugars enough to boost alcohol above 15% so the flor would thrive. This is a great dry wine, or an great understated sherry, straddling both styles. Serving Suggestion: Spanish Jamon in all of its incarnations. Roncal or Manchego cheeses w/ Marcona almonds & oil aged olives. Classic fried tapas! |
