Chateau Calon Segur Saint Estephe 750ml
Vintage: | 2017 |

Description: | Château Calon Ségur is the northernmost classified growth. The wine often has a high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2017 is no exception. With 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, it was fermented in stainless steel, then aged for 18-20 months in 100% new oak. Georgie Hindle: Unctuous, juicy and ripe, with excellent precision and presentation. The fruit feels fresh and cool, and this salty, mineral tang is so delicious. I really feel the sea here! Vincenzo Arnese: Powerful nose with a lot of intensity; the wine shows some tertiary aromas of earthiness like mushroom and forest floor, followed by mocha and dark chocolate. Nice body and structure. Tannins and acidity are present but integrated. Andy Howard Mw: Extra concentration and depth here with layers of plum and dark cherry fruit, spice notes, plenty of ripe tannins and fresh acidity to balance. A very classy, complex, delicious 2017. |
