| Description: | Importer's Notes:. Domaine de la Taste is located 150 kms from Bordeaux and 120 kms from Toulouse. Nadège and Sylvain Fontan are the fourth generation to take care of this land, a vineyard of 80 hectares full of promise, using typical grape varieties suited to its 'terroir'. They actively promote the typicity of Gascony wines by organizing regular events and tastings at the Domaine. Grape varieties. 50% Colombard, 21% Ugni Blanc, 13% Gros Manseng, 7% Sauvignon. Terroir. A specific mix of clay and sand called « Boulbène ». Winemaking. Mechanical harvesting and destalking, 8 to 12 hour maceration with skin contact. Pressing is performed using pneumatic wine presses. In order to facilitate decantation, the wine is kept at 8°C for 5 days. Fermentation takes place at 18°C for 12 to 18 days. After filtration, the grape juices are assembled and stabilized. The wines are kept in vats at 8°C until bottling. Tasting notes. Very fruity bouquet of citrus, white and yellow fruits. Great vivacity and long lasting mouthfeel. Food pairing suggestions. Drink with apéritif, salads, fish and shellfish, white meat. Serve chilled 10/12°C. |
