Description: | 92 PTS - Wine Enthusiast (Editors' Choice). Old vines, up to 60 years old, are the basis of this concentrated, ripe and intense wine. It is impressive and tightly wound, with layers of rich citrus fruit and a chalky texture. This is still a little young, so drink from 2018. Kenn Pogash ("the guy wearing the bow tie") (2018-04-10). The wine greets you from the lass with its bright pale yellow color core surrounded by a water-white rim. On the nose the wine offers a medium intensity of lemon zest, white peach and a hint of melon (cantaloupe). On the palate the wine is dry with a medium(-) body and mouth-watering acidity. The flavors are a light intensity lemon citrus and refreshing minerality. The finish is clean with a medium lenght of medium intensity of flavors similar to the palate. Winemaker's Notes. The old vines here do give some concentration. More importantly, they give a great swathe of ripe fruit that is socrisp and refreshing. Lemon and the lightest texture are lifted by intense acidity and a lively, fresh aftertaste. |
