Piedra Negra Malbec Reserve Mendoza, Argentina
Vintage: | 2020 |
---|---|
Description: | Varietal: 100% Malbec - Today Malbec is the emblematic strain of Argentina, where it found its land of predilection. Origin: Uco Valley, Mendoza. We also buy grapes from farms neighboring ours. Farms located in the Los Chacayes Area. Winery Notes: Ruby red color with cherry reflections. Complex, with a mixture of red berries and the spicy aromas of escarpia and black pepper. Some delicate notes of chocolate and coffee that come from its aging in a structured and complex wine, with pleasant tannins that provide sweetness and a long finish. The spices are combined with toasted notes and the red fruit characteristic of Malbec. The Vintage: The 2016 vintage was very wet all year round, even during the ripening of the grapes. That humidity forced us to do a lot of green work (leaf removal), to help the grapes ripen. The filtering and poor soils of Chacayes allowed us to obtain a good concentration, and also a freshness and a more marked acidity than in recent years. The 2016 vintage is characterized by freshness and elegance. |
