The Wolftrap Syrah Mourvedre Viognier

The Wolftrap Syrah Mourvedre Viognier

Mourvedre,Syrah,Viognier from Paarl

Vintage: 2017
Description: Wine maker notes When the farm was founded, the Franschhoek valley was far wilder than it is today - as the wolf trap we once discovered goes to show. Today, the mountains are still alive with indigenous animals, including the majestic leopard. No evidence of wolves has ever been found though, so we created this wine to remind us of the mysteries and legends of days gone by. Technical notes Closure: Screwcap/Stelvin Alcohol level: 14.0% Grape composition: 86% Syrah, 13% Mourvedre, 1% Viognier. Producer Boekenhoutskloof was established in 1776. Located in the furthest corner of the beautiful Franschhoek valley, the farm's name means "ravine of the Boekenhout" (pronounced Book-n-Howed). Boekenhout is an indigenous Cape Beech tree greatly prized for furniture making. In 1993 the farm and homestead was bought and restored and a new vineyard planting programme was established that now includes Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Semillon and Viognier.
