| Description: | The name Scarpatta is derived from the escarpment from which the vineyard is located in San Benito. Aglianico can be a difficult grape to work with, with many requiring a decade to become drinkable, but not this one. The approachability of the fruit is what make this special, with dusty red and black fruits, black cherry, pomegranate and dried flowers. A velvety texture covers the palate with building tannins and more dusty notes of leather, dates and white pepper. |
