| Description: | Allendorf, Riesling "Free" (alcohol free), Rheingau, Germany 2016 100% Riesling Green Apple & Lemon Curd, Zesty & Fresh, Ain't Booze Is this wine "dry," you ask? Well, it depends on what you mean by that. On the one hand, it's certainly got a touch of sweetness. On the other, how dry it is! It's naturally de-alcoholized for your imbibing (or non-imbibing?) pleasure. These Rheingau Riesling grapes were harvested at minimal ripeness prior to fermentation, resulting in a wine whose initial alcohol content was relatively low and whose residual sugar remained modest. Vacuum distillation got rid of the booze, leaving behind a wine which is elegantly, recognizably Riesling with bright acidity and gentle sweetness. Bottoms up! Serving Suggestion: Ham w/ black eyed peas, & stewed collards w/ garlic & truffle cheddar. Aioli kraut & smoked carrot "lox." |
