Pale yellow, with a silky viscous texture that shimmers in the glass. Aromatics of grapefruit and a hint of fresh pineapple. Pomelo and light grapefruit on the palate with lemon zest. Nice acidity holds it all together. Some nice aging potential here. I'm diggin' it! - Ron van Vlaardingen, Gvwm Fine Wine Sales Director. Barrel Sample. Crisp and tight with fine citrus flavors, the wine is beautifully proportioned with textured, zesty acidity. It shows balance between its structure and its fruits that will only get better as it matures. - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast. Richer notes of honeyed pineapple, crushed lemon, tangerine, and white flowers all emerge from the 2020 Château Carbonnieux Blanc, a bright, juicy, vibrant white that has medium-bodied richness, good mid-palate concentration, and a great finish. It's another utterly classic Grave white that will evolve for at least a decade. - Jeb Dunnuck. Edge of cut grass, citrus, white pear, stone fruit, good quality, excellent grip and persistency, a touch wild. This is enjoyable and has real personality. 47hl/ha yield, 25% new oak, enjoyable stuff from the Perrin family. - Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux. The 2020 Carbonnieux Blanc has turned out very well in bottle, exhibiting attractive aromas of lemon oil, pomelo, crisp stone fruit, mint and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, with a layered, concentrated mid-palate and a penetrating finish, it's a great success in the estate's Sauvginon-dominant style. - William Kelley, Wine Advocate. Lots of dried lemon, spiced pear, matchstick, and ginger aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, with light caramel, honey and some tropical fruits. Dense wine, but framed with phenolics. Delicious finish. Outstanding as always. 65% sauvignon and 35% semillon. Drink now. - James Suckling. Fresh and breezy, with a fleur de sel edge that adds nice energy to the core of gooseberry, white peach and lemon gelée. Presents a pretty quinine echo through the finish. Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. Drink now through 2026. From France.-James Molesworth, Wine Spectator. The 2020 Carbonnieux Blanc is a very pretty white that marries the freshness of Sauvignon with the great richness and mid-palate of Sémillon. Dried pear, almond, chamomile, crushed flowers and mint all meld together effortlessly. The 2020 is impeccable from start to finish. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous. Tasted blind. More obviously oaky than some, with spice notes as well as pithy grapefruit and lemon. Tight, mouth-watering, with good fruit core. Long and vibrant. Drink 2023 – 2029. 13 Feb 2024. - Julia Harding Mw, JancisRobinson
