Erath Pinot Gris
Description: | Our Pinot Gris has an interesting floral note of gardenia this vintage. That aroma is coupled with obvious pear, melon, banana, and faint green apple. In the mouth the flavors echo the aromatic fruits. The wine enters the mouth with a hint of sweetness then broadens to a medium rich body, and tails to lingering fruit flavors leaving the mouth feeling refreshed for another sip. In the traditional Erath style, this wine is built to serve as an aperitif or an accompaniment to food. Please note that this wine is sealed with a twist cap closure. Cooking Suggestions: Beautiful with all kinds of seafood, especially shell fish, mollusks and trout; turkey; pork; Asian dishes; and light to medium spicy foods. Region Description. Pinot Gris, like the closely related Pinot Noir grape, needs a cool climate and is highly sensitive to terrior, or growing conditions. Though the grape can grow in several places, it makes good wine in only a few. Pinot Gris is one of the two USA whites that are incredibly versatile with food, the other being Sauvignon Blanc. Oregon Pinot Gris has an inherent creamy yet crisp character that agrees with many foods. |
