The dominant varietals are Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio with smaller quantities of Nocera, Cappuccio Tignolino, Acitana, Galatena and Calabrese. These are same varietals that go into the better known and award-winning Faro. It could therefore be considered Faro's baby brother.
