Description: | 97 points Wine Enthusiast. A slight hint of crushed passionflower leaf hovers on the wine's otherwise rather clsoed nose. The palate then comes in with a concentration that points to utter richness, even though it is not fully fledged yet. There is yeasty roundness, stony depth and a wonderfully pithy, zesty texture that reveals more freshness and white pepper sprays with every swish. It needs bottle age. Drink 2025–2050. (ak) (3/2021) 93 points Decanter. Yellow apple, pear and citrus on the nose, the Ried Steinertal Grüner is more mineral than the Loibenberg. The site is lower than Ried Loibenberg with cold air constantly coming down from the hill. Oily and rich on the palate, with plenty of green and yellow fruits and bitter citrus. The mouthfeel is warming at 14% alcohol, but the limey acidity provides a lift. Yellow apple and apricot notes linger on. Drinking Window 2021 - 2025. (sw) (4/2021) 92 points Wine Spectator. Subtle aromas of white flowers, grapefruit and passion fruit gives way to savory elements of celeriac and legumes on the palate. This white is delicate and refined, with a vibrant structure and a lingering aftertaste of floral, fruit and mineral. Drink now through 2027. (7/2021). |
