It prances out with showy notes of blueberry pie, blackberry preserves, and blackcurrant cordial, plus suggestions of vanilla pod, chocolate box, and cinnamon toast, with a touch of violets. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers amazing freshness and vivacity, with layers of energetic black and blue fruits and a very finely grained texture, finishing long and perfumed. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Independent. Violet-edged, with sculpted fruit and an enticing mix of precision and generosity, with classic St Julien balance. Great depth of fruit, crushed rocks, smoked earth, tobacco. Takes time to show itself, but there is sweet blackberry fruit here, and a purity of expression that has clear long-term potential.
