Giacomo Fenocchio "90 DI'" Bussia Barolo Riserva
Vintage: | 2016 |
---|---|
Description: | Winery Notes - "Traditional method: natural fermentation without added yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Ancient technique of submerging the cap for 90 days. This process allows for an elegant transfer of the wine as it retains some of the noble elements found in the skins. Ageing: Six months in stainless steel tanks, four years in large capacity Slavonian oak casks (35-50 hl) and a successive refinement in the bottle.". Kerin O'keefe 97 Points - " Camphor, ripe berry, forest floor and oak-driven spice aromas lead the nose. Full-bodied and heroically structured, the youthfully austere palate exhibits dried cherry, raspberry compote, licorice and tobacco set against a tannic backbone. Fresh acidity keeps it balanced. Like the Barolos of Yore, this needs years to come around but will offer decades of pleasure.". Try 2026-2046; aerate in the decanter a few hours. |
