From Toscana IGT

Vintage: 2019
Description: 97 Wa / 97 JS / 97 Wi / 96 De / 96 We / 94 Fs. In a sense, this wine is like the Bosco dei Sugheri but with the addition of one more grape variety in the blend. The Tua Rita 2019 Giusto di Notri is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc and 8% Merlot. I tasted the wine shortly after it had been bottled. With 40,000 bottles made, it should start hitting the market now. The Giusto di Notri offers lots of dark primary fruit with important structure and texture in this classic vintage. Blackberry and black plum cede to spice, tar and campfire ash. There's nothing not to like in this vintage that far exceeded initial expectations. I look forward to tasting more Tuscan reds from the excellent 2019 growing season.- Monica Larner, The Wine Advocate. Sweet berries and spice with dried-chili and walnut undertones. Currants, too. Full-bodied with chewy tannins that are polished and savory. Very sophisticated and structured. Savory. Cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc. Give this time to soften. A beauty this vintage. Try after 2024.-James Suckling. This Tua Rita, Giusto di Notri, Toscana IGT 2019 is a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc and 8% Merlot. The 2019 has a deep, youthful color and lots of sweet spice with hints of coffee and vanilla at first on the nose. This wine is very young but beautifully balanced, smooth and medium to full bodied with a lovely concentration but no heaviness. It has that weightless quality of very fine wines with superfine textured tannins and youthful cream and cassis flavors. The flavors are bright, poised and clearly delineated and set in a luxurious texture but with a fresh, elegant finish. Everything is beautifully integrated and harmonious in this wine, despite the fact that this is very young. Delicious now but would repay waiting a year or two.- Susan Hulme, The Wine Independent. Giusto dei Notri represents the original spirit of the winery - it was the estate's first wine and helped to position Tua Rita among the premium wine producers of Italy. The vineyards of the 'Giusto' are characterised by a pebbly soil rich in red clay and limestone. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, it's refined for 18 months in French oak barrels. The nose shows beautiful aromas of plum and blackcurrant, with notes of rhubarb and liquorice. Dry and fresh, the palate is elegant with silky tannins, long persistence and overtones of black cherry. Outstanding.- Filippo Magnani, Decanter. Black cherry, blackberries and Mission figs appear on the nose before deep, sanguine and metallic aromas take over, eventually acting like bedrock for the palate, where dark fruit and warm earth tones luxuriate against tannins that are impossibly, preternaturally sleek. The fine-tuning guarantees yet more elegance with age; drink 2029–2039. - Danielle Callegari, Wine Enthusiast. Radiant ruby violet hue. Paler at the rim. Opens up with intense notes of tobacco, then wild raspberry and cassis. Sprawls richly on the palate enhanced by dark fruit nuances, substance, firm tannins with lots of grip and marked by tension on the finish, vivid fruit.-Peter Moser, Falstaff.
