| Description: | From a vineyard near Cloverdale, this is a relatively restrained, not too big version of Petite Sirah. Still varietally classic, with powerful aromas of blackcurrant, cherry, and plum, lifted by richly aromatic floral notes of violet and iris, followed by coffee beans and cocoa. The palate is full of spicy aromas of chewy licorice with a firm, tannic structure that deepens the intensity, leading into a long, gripping finish. Intense and darkly inviting, this is a wine to chew on. |
