When I do pick an easy-to-drink Pinot Gris, I'm reminded how really good it is. Nicely centered between the showy, full-bodied flavors of Chardonnay and the very dry citrusy-ness of Sauvignon Blanc, the Ponzi Pinot Gris will charm your wine friends and be a treat on any dinner table. Oregon is ideal for growing Pinot Gris and Ponzi remains a leading grower of this varietal with its first vine plantings dating to 1978. This wine is produced from certified sustainable, Ponzi owned vineyards, and lots of care is taken in the winemaking. A bright and lively character is maintained and a relatively low alcohol (12.5%) is well balanced in wine. Aromas of marzipan and lime citrus give you a real lift followed by full flavors of lemon, melon and ripe apple. This is a favorite white wine for me.
