Maria Caterin Dei Vino Nobile Di MONTEPULCIANO" BOSSONA" Riserva

Vintage: 2016
Description: Practicing Organic. 100% Sangivoese. "The Dei family produced their first wines from their estate in the heart of the historic appellation of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano in 1985. Since 1991 it has been run by Caterina Dei, and in this time the estate has become one of the leaders in the region, producing lush, perfumed, fruit-driven wines that are exquisite expressions of the local Prugnolo type of Sangiovese." - Skurnik Imports. Bossona is a 13.3 hectare amphitheater-shaped vineyard with sandy limestone soils rich in marine fossils Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Vinous Media 95 Points - "The 2016 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva Bossona is deeply alluring yet still needs to unwind a bit more. Its dark in nature yet floral, with ripe black cherries, balsam herbs, hints of cacao and smoke. This enters the palate soft and silky, energized by brilliant acidity, with candied ginger giving way to red currants and finally, a coating of fine tannin toward the close. Both savory and sweet, this tapers off with a herbal and floral thrust and a twang of salted licorice. Brava; what a beauty. The Riserva Bossona is 100% Sangiovese refined for two years in tonneaux, followed by another year in cask.". James Suckling 95 Points - "What catches your attention immediately here is the freshness to the fruit. Cherry, plum and orange-peel provide brightness to the wine from the start. Then, its full-bodied with a well-placed balance of fruit and oak tannin that will guarantee a long life to this riserva. However, its delicious even now."
