The vineyard, named after the Italian term "Sorì," meaning "Cru," is a south-facing amphitheater surrounded by a lush oak forest. The 3.7-hectare plot is planted with local varieties such as Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, and Barbera, with some vines dating back to the 1950s. Carlo Mondavi and Giovanna Bagnasco, multi-generational winegrowers, approach their craft with a deep respect for agriculture and a commitment to site-driven wines. They employ a blend of permaculture and biodynamic practices to cultivate their vineyard in harmony with nature. In the cellar, they focus on capturing the vineyard's delicate notes through native whole-cluster fermentations and aging in large Slavonian oak botti. The wines are bottled without fining or filtration to preserve their pure, nuanced characteristics.
