Seghesio Sonoma Zinfandel

Vintage: 2019
Description: Winemaker Notes\r\n\r\n\r\nEach vintage, we harvest multiple diverse lots of Zinfandel that span the entire Sonoma County Zinfandel landscape. Each of these lots is produced under the careful eye of our winemaker, Ted Seghesio. The best of these lots are selected to make Sonoma Zinfandel. A small amount of Petite Sirah is added to honor century old traditions and to provide color and structure. The result is a wine that offers tantalizing raspberry, blueberry, classic briary and spicy flavors with a balance of components for which Seghesio wines are known.\r\nAn expressive burst of aromas of deep dark fruits lead into layered tones of lifted red fruit and a soft, luscious mid-palate. A juicy, vibrant entry with notes of mint, sarsaparilla, and fresh plum is interwoven with supple, textured tannins and acidity on the long, complex finish.\r\nPair with steak red sauces, pizza, barbecue, spicy cuisine and cured salami.\r\nJeb Dunnuck 90 Points\r\nAbout Seghesio Winery\r\n2015 marked Seghesio Family Vineyards\u2019 120th anniversary in Sonoma County. Post-prohibition, Seghesio was a key supplier of grapes and bulk wine to large California wineries.\r\nThe modern era saw fourth generation Ted Seghesio make the first wines under the Seghesio label in the early 1980s. Under the leadership and guidance of Ted and his cousin Pete, Seghesio Family Vineyards has become renowned for exceptional Zinfandels and Italian varietals.\r\nIn 2011 Seghesio Family Vineyards joined Crimson Wine Group, a company committed to crafting benchmark wines from premier growing regions. Today, winemaker Andy Robinson is at the helm of the cellar. Having worked alongside Ted Seghesio for nearly two decades, Andy became Head Winemaker in 2015.
