Description: | Sonoma County, California. Matanzas Creek Sauvignon Blanc is a beautiful white wine gem from Sonoma County in California. Matanzas Creek has been dedicated to a genuine expression of Sonoma County Sauvignon Blanc since 1977. The wine is primarily fermented in stainless steel tanks at low temperature with the balance in neutral oak barrels. Wine Advocate rated this release 89 points!. Matanzas Creek Sauvignon Blanc is a blend of 94% Sauvignon Blanc and 6% Semillon from 3 different vineyards in Sonoma County: Helena Bench, Coyote Hills and Haarstad. Expressive fruit-driven aromas of grapefruit, nectarine and honeydew melon flood the nose while lemon thyme and oyster shells contribute further depth, both in the nose and on the palate. Both bright and textured, the Sonoma County Sauvignon perfectly expresses the diverse range of vineyards blended together to make this wine. It is clean, crisp and refreshing on the long finish. Enjoy Matanzas Creek Sauvignon Blanc over the next 3-4 years as an aperitif wine or with grilled shrimp, sushi, crab salad, roast chicken and mild cheeses. |
