| Description: | 60% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc. Pape Clément's second label is drinking extremely well right now, fresh, lively, and very approachable. Like its bigger sibling, it comes from Pessac-Léognan on gravel/sand clays for Cabernet and Petit Verdot and clay for Merlot. Aged for 14 months in 40% new oak, the nose is inviting with plum, blackcurrant, dried herbs, and spice, followed by supple tannins, high acidity, and a long, generous finish. |
