Domaine Jacques Lemenicier - Crozes-Hermitage
Vintage: | 2020 |

Description: | Until fairly recently Lemenecier's wines were only sold out of his cellar, mostly to private clients and some of the top French restaurants. This is classic Syrah, with aromas of dark berries, black pepper, and olives, spicy and supple on the palate, with juicy blackberriy and bitter cherry flavors and a hint of licorice. The latest addition to the range of wines, the Crozes-Hermitage appellation encompasses several communes in the Drôme on the left bank of the Rhône, it is the largest vineyard in the northern appellations. Harvested fairly late for the plot, this allowed very ripe grapes with a high degree of alcohol to be brought into the cellar. 100% destemmed, 2 daily air rackings during fermentation, finished with not too abrupt punching down once a day during maceration. Aged in 80% used barrels for 8 months. Producer: Domaine Jacques |
