| Description: | Winemaker Notes\r\n\r\n\r\nA bright, light straw color, Ma Belle-Fille bursts from the glass with vine blossom, pure liquid minerals, nectarines, white flowers, creamed hazelnut, pastry elements, and Reinette apple. On the palate, noticeable layer upon layer of stone, minerals, grilled bread, and jasmine are accentuated with an oily, full-bodied concentration. The finish is complex and expansive with a purity of lingering lemon curd, vanilla bean, yellow flowers, and nougat with hints of cinnamon and pain d'\u00e9pices. Rocky, rhyolitic soils created through volcanic activity millennia ago, contribute a mineral richness and add to the wine\u2019s complexity. Spanning 49 acres, Les Pavots ascends to an elevation of nearly 1,400 feet. Merlot and Cabernet Franc grow on the cool upper slopes and Cabernet Sauvignon grows just below. |
