| Description: | This 30 year old single grain Japanese whiskey was one of the biggest surpises for our liquor staff. The Teitessa 30 year is aged in American new white oak, Pedro ximenez and finally in Limousine Oak. When we first heard about their aging process we believed that the whiskey would be aged 10 years in each barrel then transfered over. But to our surpirse the barrel contains the whiskey for 30 years then all three barrels are blended together. Once we heard about this we knew we had to bring it in, and at this price point this is one of our biggest hidden gems in quite a while. It's a balanced, mellow, and refreshing Japanese whisky expression with a deep tannin aroma. Thick and soft, the palate has a pleasant sweetness and a lingering woody finish. A mellow and refreshing top note unique to oak barrel storage. It has a thick and soft taste with a deep tannin scent, and you can feel the sweetness. Finishes with a woody aftertaste. Excellent product with the perfection of aromatics, flavor, and finish. Nose: The aroma has a strong wood influence with a distinct aroma of warm toasted oak and a bit of cedar over layers of caramel flan. Palate: The flavor profile is sweet and light with vanilla, caramel, and an interesting umami note. Conclusion: One of the best Japanese Whiskey's we have had.
