Above the fog line and just two and a half miles from the Pacific, names like Hirsch, Kutch, Marnet and Drew all get fruit from the vineyard and then charge upwards of $80 for bottles from the site. So when winemaker Andy Jones—who spent 15 years making wine under 100-point icon Thomas Rivers Brown—got access to McDougall Ranch grapes in one of Sonoma's best vintages of the last decade, he knocked it out of the park. |
