Description: Between the Auxerrois and Chablisien vineyards, the estate of Céline and Frédéric Gueguen is made up of 23 hectares of vines in the villages of Chablis, Chichée, la Chapelle Vaupelteigne, Saint-Bris and Irancy. The family is based in the hamlet of Préhy, just 7 km south west of Chablis. They respect the tradition of these wines and the fragility of their terroir, as all of their techniques aim at taking care of the environment and preserving the aromatic complexity of the wines. The winery is situated in the village of La Chapelle Vaupelteigne. The property, an 19th- century building has a wonderful view over to Chablis hill. Sourced from 40+ year old vines in Chichée, on the warm right bank of the Serein River, this classic French white shows beautiful notes of citrus fruits and flowers. The remarkable limestone soils of Chablis produces a complex Chardonnay that is unlike any other. Maturing on lees from November to mid-April, the wine is kept 10 months in 100% stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and fruitiness. Producer The Gueguen family is based in the hamlet of Prehy, just 7 km South-West of Chablis. The winery was created in January 2013. Celine and Frederic both worked for large wine estates in Chablis for 15 years before setting up their own domaine. They sincerely plan to respect the tradition and the fragility of the terroir. All of their cultural techniques aim at taking care of the environement and preserving the aromatic complexity of their wines. They are passionate about sharing their knowledge to visitors, and have set up a B&B in their home.
